Baby socks and stocking cap for a sweet lil elf

March 11, 2023 Frances Ranger

My fingering weight yarn stash is out of control. I have a pile of skeins (actually, three or four good-sized baskets worth) just waiting for projects. And several of them come from Les Laines Biscotte. Their yarns are just so delicious. I have a weakness, clearly. Anyway, when it comes time to make a baby gift, there’s no need for me to go to the shop. I have just what I require at home.

For this adorable set, I pulled out a skein I bought probably 4 years ago that’s been waiting for the right project. It’s Bis-sock (85% wool, 15% nylon) self-striping yarn in the Pink Waterlily colourway. Bright, rich, utterly cheerful tones – perfect for a wee stocking cap and cosy socks.

Babies are just so satisfying to knit for cause the projects go fast and are just so DARN CUTE.
