Non-baby-related palette cleanser? Okay!

Hey, I understand. My world doesn’t always revolve around babies either. After I finished the Swirl Baby Hat, which required pretty full attention when I didn’t have a whole lot of attention span to spare, I needed a nice light snack.

Since our stack of dish cloths always has a couple of desperate looking characters that really should be retired, I thought a new one would be a nice quick knit that would contribute utility to my household.

I pawed through my stash and came up with a big ol’ ball of colourful cotton. Pretty sure it’s Lily Sugar n’ Cream brand, but the band is long, long gone. I used a pattern: Hurdle Stitch dish cloth on Ravelry. Of course, you don’t need any kind of pattern to knit a dish cloth! I just felt like it, and I liked the look of the texture.  It was easy. And it did indeed cleanse the palette.

Got to say though, dish cloth cotton just isn’t as pleasing to knit with as all the pretty stuff I usually smoosh in my fingers. Lot cheaper though. Definitely not going to scrub pots with yak, merino or silk…
